Can I Apply Through a Kiosk?

This option can be useful for people who are not comfortable filling out the online form themselves.

The applicant should make sure that the information entered in the form matches the supporting records.

How Long Does J&K Pension Application Take?

The current JanSugam service page lists 30 days as the service delivery time after submission.

Government holidays are not counted in this period.

The service is listed as “Application for Sanction of Pension under JK-ISSS / GOI-NSAP” and the applicant receives an output certificate/report as the service deliverable.

What Happens After Applying?

The application is processed under the Social Welfare Department’s pension service.

Once the pension case is sanctioned, the pension amount is credited to the beneficiary’s bank account. Official J&K pension sanction records show Old Age Pension cases under JK-ISSS being sanctioned by District Social Welfare Officers, with instructions for monthly pension credit to the beneficiary’s bank account.

The actual processing of an individual application depends on verification and approval of the case.

What Happens When the Beneficiary Reaches the Next Age Group?

The pension amount changes when the beneficiary moves into the next age bracket.

Under Government Order No. 96-JK(SWD) of 2025, a pensioner enters the next age group from the month in which the required age is reached. The enhanced pension for the new age group is applicable from the following month.

For example, a beneficiary moving from the 55–59 age group into the 60–79 group will move to the higher pension rate according to this rule.

Where to Apply?

The application is available through the J&K JanSugam portal under the Social Welfare Department.

The current service is:
